Collection: Coffee-Scented Candles

Rich coffee aromas - poured into candles you can customize.

Create Your Own Coffee-Scented Candle

Few scents grab your attention like fresh coffee. It is rich, warm, and familiar. A coffee-scented candle can make any room feel cozy and inviting. At Urban Wick Candle Bar in Downtown Birmingham, Michigan, you can make your own. Build a blend that is totally yours.

What Makes a Good Coffee-Scented Candle?

The difference between a candle that smells like stale grounds and one that smells like a real pour depends on the fragrance oil. The best coffee-inspired blends layer roasted depth with subtle sweetness, the way a good cup of espresso does.

At Urban Wick, in-house scent designers guide every candle-making experience. You choose from 80+ premium fragrance oils, blending and adjusting until the scent is exactly right. No guessing. No rushing.

How the Candle-Making Experience Works

The process is hands-on from the first sniff to the final pour. Here is what to expect:

  • Choose your fragrance oils and work with a scent designer to build your custom blend.
  • Select your vessel: candle, reed diffuser, room spray, lotion, or hand soap.
  • Pour your candle in natural soy wax with an organic cotton wick.
  • Allow it to set, then carry it home the same day.

A $10 per person reservation fee applies and is credited toward your purchase at checkout. Book your experience online or call (248) 977-8432.

Prefer a Ready-Made Option?

If you want a coffee-inspired scent without the visit, browse the signature blend candles or shop all products online. Each candle is hand-poured by the Urban Wick team using natural soy wax and clean-burning fragrance oils.

Plan a Group Visit

Coffee and candle-making go well together for a reason: both reward slowing down. Urban Wick hosts private gatherings for 18-30 guests, including:

  • Bachelorette and bridal showers
  • Corporate team-building outings
  • Birthday celebrations

Space rental starts at $400 for a 3-hour event with a full team of scent designers. Learn more about private events or contact us to check availability.

Who Burns a Coffee-Scented Candle?

Coffee-scented candles attract a specific kind of buyer, the type who notices the difference between a single-origin pour-over and a gas-station refill. A custom-blended coffee candle gives that same audience something a mass-market jar can't.

  • Home baristas: the scent extends the morning ritual into the rest of the day, even after the espresso machine is off
  • Coffee shop regulars: a way to carry the cafe atmosphere into a home office or reading nook
  • Hosts and gift-givers: a thoughtful housewarming or holiday present for the coffee enthusiast who already has the mug, the grinder, and the beans
  • Cold-weather lovers: roasted, slightly sweet notes pair well with fall and winter, when warm aromas read as instantly cozy

What Makes Urban Wick Different for Coffee Lovers?

Most coffee-scented candles on store shelves smell like burnt syrup. Urban Wick takes the opposite approach: real depth, balanced sweetness, and a process built around your nose, not a factory formula.

  • Layered roasts, not single notes: scent designers help you balance espresso, mocha, and caramel notes for a candle that smells like a fresh cup, not a syrup bottle
  • Clean-burning soy wax: no paraffin smoke fighting the aroma, so the coffee notes stay true from first burn to last
  • Tested before pouring: you smell every variation before committing, so the final candle matches what you imagined
  • Founded in 2020 by Marlene and Elise Mansour, a mother-daughter-owned, the first candle bar of its kind in Southeast Michigan
  • Recognized locally: featured on WDIV-TV's "Live in the D" and Detroit Mom
