Urban Wick Candle Bar is proud once again to be a part of The Great Decorate in Birmingham this holiday season! We have our Giving Tree decorated and ready for this great community effort in support of local foster teens.
Fostering Hope For The Holidays
The Great Decorate, an annual holiday decorating contest that originated in 2019, raises awareness and funds to support local foster teens who are about to age-out of the foster care system. Each year, a group of foster teen recipients are selected for The Great Decorate through a partnership with the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange.

From November 29 through December 31, visitors are welcome to stop by restaurants and retail locations throughout downtown Birmingham to view magnificent holiday decor and vote for their favorite display by DONATING ONLINE. 100% of The Great Decorate donations are provided directly to local foster teens to use toward their future when they turn 18.
Each year in the United States, more than 250,000 children are placed in foster care and over 26,500 age-out, including 1,700 in Michigan alone. Through The Great Decorate, we aim to make that transition a little easier for teens in need. To date, The Great Decorate has raised more than $150,000 for local foster teens.
This community event kicks off on Giving Tuesday, November 29th and runs through December 31st, 2022. We can't wait for you to see all of the great displays in our downtown Birmingham stores and restaurants.
